Why Was PreApp Created?
PreApp is a result of a long-standing issue with a pre-application service provided by local planning authorities within the UK that is simply not fit for purpose. In our opinion, because pre-application submissions raised to local planning authorities that seek to gain advice from them before a planning application is submitted, is not covered by statutory legislation, it often falls to the bottom of the priority pile in local planning authorities management of submissions made to them.
The determination or the issues/advice brought forward by a local planning authority is often very slow in terms of the feedback, it’s often very limited in terms of the quality of the response and it often is a departure or doesn’t replicate itself in the ultimate decision making process.
So ultimately, the intent of PreApp is to simplify the process, that is…
To give greater certainty on decision making within local planning authorities.
To understand the recommendations, strengths and weaknesses for any particular type of planning application.
To identify real-time data to determine how much it will cost, how long it will take and the actual chances of getting planning permission in the first place in a simplified, time efficient and cost efficient manner.
PreApp seeks to simplify and make more transparent the process of the pre-application service. It gives you the information you require and gives you a realistic understanding of the chances of getting planning permission. Our agenda was simple, we wanted to reinvigorate and reinvent the pre-application service, and PreApp has done this.
